Healing Source Acupuncture - Danette De Cannett, L.Ac.
A SMART CHOICE

Millions of people have turned to acupuncture as an effective complement to their current medical care and often find it to be a better solution than the use of drugs or surgery. With a 3,000-year history, acupuncture successfully addresses chronic ailments and manages pain. And with the rising cost of health care in this country, Chinese medicine has become the more economical and wiser choice, both in preventing illness and getting to the root of problematic symptoms.  It is important for us all to take charge of our own health and to become less dependent on an outside source to fix our problems.  Chinese medicine used the right way can teach us to tap into self healing capabilities that we all have naturally.

Acupuncture is a safe, painless alternative for treating:

  • Arthritis, fibromyalgia, back pain and carpal tunnel
  • Allergies, asthma and other respiratory problems
  • Gastrointestinal issues
  • Gynecological problems like infertility and PMS
  • Depression, anxiety, insomnia and stress
  • And many more physical, emotional and neurological issues

Why Acupuncture?

The goals of treatment are to help the body's natural ability to regain equilibrium and to help you discover the joy of optimal health and well-being.  Scientific studies have shown that acupuncture can block pain messengers, as well as, promote secretion of endorphins, the body's own natural pain killers also known as "the runner's high" with long distance runners.  It is important to understand that pain can signal that something more serious is going on and needs further assessment.  Chinese medicine has the tools not only to relieve the pain, but also to discover and heal the underlying cause.

This medicine can help anyone - pain or no pain.  If you are asymptomatic you may choose to take advantage of the more subtle benefits of balancing your energy and preventing future symptoms that may arise from this imbalance.

Understanding Qi:

Using current technology, western science has developed an instrument that can detect the amount of electrical energy, known as qi (or chi), that is flowing through the body's meridian system.  Acupuncture points are just "pools" of this energy that give us access to the energy that flows throughout the rest of the body.  The lack of flow - of qi - is at the root of all disease.  Acupuncture and energy medicine encourages the qi to flow freely throughout the body's system of meridians and chakras, often removing any obstructions that inhibit this flow.

As science continues in its attempts and successes to explain how acupuncture effects physical and mental well-being, there is something happening on a much deeper level - the energetic level of qi.
